HISTORY

The Noviello story begins in the town of Bitonto, Italy, the City of Olives, in the picturesque southern province of Bari. Luigi Noviello and his wife Ana Scaraggi farmed the land with a passion. They decided to seek greater opportunity and immigrated to Buenos Aires in the early 1900’s with their only daughter, Maria.

The Noviello family continued the Italian tradition of farming and became distributors of produce from the family’s plantation in Tigre, Buenos Aires. With his horse-drawn wagon full of fresh produce, Luigi Noviello would leave late every evening in order to arrive first thing every morning at the Central Market in Buenos Aires to sell his produce. Luigi Noviello was also a wine lover and began making wine from their plantation’s grapes.

Our winery is the culmination of a rich family tradition in the wine, fruit and olive oil businesses in both the Old and New Worlds.

Noviello co-owner, Ana Stern has fondly referred to her grandmother along with the women of the Noviello Family as “Brava” – valiant, passionate women, always putting their families first. Hence our flagship Brava wine!
